A SOWNY member tipped me off to Bruce Marshall's Facebook page, which contains posts indicating the former broadcaster has passed away.
Marshall - one of three people with that last name that used to be a SOWNY member - could be quite cantankerous, but there was no doubt he was talented. He worked at both CHUM-AM and FM and CJEZ in Toronto, as well as CKOC, CJJD and K-Lite FM in Hamilton. He was also the imaging voice for TSN for a time and very briefly tried a show with Jodie Decker on Sauga960, of all places.
He was well remembered as a firefighter, an instructor at Humber and ran unsuccessfully for office.
No cause of death or age has been released yet, but whatever happened seems to have occurred quickly - he posted on his Facebook page just yesterday.
Dale Patterson's Rock Radio Scrapbook has an aircheck of Marshall from CJJD back in 1981. You can hear it here.

I recall Bruce's hatred of " Robbers" and "Bhell" , and his absolute disdain for both Rob and Doug Ford. Sad news. RIP.

Very sad news. I feel like I've known Bruce for a long time just from our social media interactions. I got a chuckle out of some of his contributions on Twitter, Facebook and here over the years and I recently started following him on the Twitter alternative Bluesky. I was last in contact with Bruce to tell him about Mike Cleaver's passing because he wasn't on the Yellow Board. My heartfelt condolences to his close family and friends. RIP.

I never worked with Bruce but knew him from lots of auditions. Talented guy gone too soon. RIP
