A great find on YouTube - the CHUM 40th anniversary special that aired on City TV in 1997. The show contains some incredible early audio from the station, including well before it went rock. Among the interviewees: Monty Hall, who talks about how his radio show on 1050 may have helped inspire Let's Make A Deal, former DJ Phil Stone, who recounts the day the other announcers were told they were going to play rock ' roll, and Allen Farrell, the genius promotion man responsible for getting the place noticed - sometimes, too well.
The video of the old Toronto is incredible and evokes as many memories as the CHUM soundtrack itself. Definitely worthy of 47 minutes of your time if you've never seen this or haven't viewed it in a long while.
A terrific recap about a once terrific radio station.

I have watched this on Youtube and it is nice to see it again. Well done, and a lot of great clips and memories. Maybe someday it will be posted digitally to clean up the sound and get rid of all of the videotape flagging.
