Radio Count released the fall 24 listening insights and results

This report is not individual market ratings for the fall, but the overall synopsis after polling 4 key markets across Canada. Here is what the highlights were...even with a bit of an increase, my sense is radio has hit a bit of a proverbial wall.

I would suggest this is due to changes to where we listen to radio (drive time) and what and where we consume content. Sirius XM, podcasts, Spotify etc. have an affect on listenership.

And below is a cut and paste of key data from the Fall Survey.

  • Radio listening remains strong with both men and women. TSL by male listeners 25-54 increased 1.6% from last fall and 4.9% from two years ago. Average weekly cume was up 3.4% and 6.1% respectively.
  • The most listened to format during the Fall 2024 survey period were pop stations (AC, Hot AC and CHR), with over 9.4 million hours spent listening weekly. This was followed by Country with 5 million hours tuned weekly.

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...
