I'm surprised by how many "Toronto This Weekend With Ben Mulroney" promos they've been running on Friday, considering these may be his last Saturday and Sunday shows, as he takes Kelly Cutrara's old weekday shift. I'm assuming he won't be doing the weekends after this cancer fundraiser on Saturday and perhaps one more early Sunday shift.
No one works 7 days a week and I have to presume he'll be taking weekends off from now on. It will be very interesting to see if anyone takes his place or if they go to endless rerolls. (I'm betting the latter, but hey, we all live to be surprised.)
Ben actually gets Alex's old spot and she moves to noon.

If it's noon, I'm listening to Vassy every time, but her show ends at 2. I guess Pierson gets the nod until 3, when Oakley's guffaw-fest starts.

Surprised but pleased to hear what I have to assume will be the last Ben Mulroney-hosted "Toronto This Weekend" live on Sunday morning. With his assuming Kelly Cutrara's spot five days a week beginning Monday, there's no way he can continue doing 7 days in a row..
I'll be very curious to see what replaces him next weekend. I hope it's not several hours of rerolls.
But I fear that's exactly what we'll get.
Interesting that they still haven't updated their schedule page - which features both Cutrara and Dani Stover, both of whom were purged last week.

I notice this morning, Ben did use a tagline along the lines of "You're listening to 640 - live on weekend mornings, as always". Smart play by Bendixen against the 1010 TV simulcasts, but I agree we'll have to see next week and beyond if they'll throw another weekend host in that slot or slice up some of the week's preceding segments, maybe from Ben's own show!

The "Contact" page too:
Incidentally, occasionally hosts have said "My producer, Dani" and I assumed it was Dani Stover doing multiple duty as part of her role - but based on that contact page it's Dani Von. Different Dani.

They just ran an Alex Pierson promo, telling listeners to tune in at 9 AM Monday. I know they're trying to keep the changes under wraps until Greg Brady officially announces it on his show, but really, why tubthump a time slot that's no longer accurate?

Greg Brady confirms the big reveal about the new schedule will come with a 'special guest' (Mike Bendixen? Ben Mulroney?) just after the 8:30 AM news on Monday. They are now running a promo with Alex Pierson confirming she'll be on at noon from now on.
As of this posting, they're still listing Kelly Cutrara and Dani Stover on their schedule page. I expect that will change soon.

The new sked is officially up. It lists Ben O'Hara Byrne in Dani Stover's old spot from 7 -10 PM, with a rerun of Ben Mulroney's Show from 10 PM - Midnight, and another round of O'Hara Byrne from 12 AM -1 AM. Oddly, a reroll of the now cancelled Dani Stover show is listed as running from 1 AM - 4 AM. That can't be right, can it?

Too bad for Cutrara. She seemed like a nice enough person, but if I never have to hear the term 'Fun and Tonic', again, that's okay.

Does not say who's hosting. Or even if it will be live.

So according to our friends at BD, Muldoon's show will run 9-12 with the first hour focused on the GTA and the second and third hours on the full Corus network.

Not everyone will hear this live or at the same time. According to a Corus press release, here's the schedule for Mulroney's show across the network:

Sad. Although, some of the users here may not like it: "Thank you Kelly! Here's a 'Fun and Tonic for you' "

I'm not sure who that new imaging voice is but he's incredibly dull. True, there's not much personality you can inject into "You're listening to the Ben Mulroney Show," but somehow the guy they chose is so listless and lacking any emotion or life, it makes you question why you're listening. What an odd choice.
The old intro gang they used was much, much better.

And the hits just keep on coming, with layoffs of some prominent personalities, this time at Corus' CJOB in Winnipeg.

Did Corus also fire the person or persons who puts up their daily podcasts of AM640 shows? There was a segment on Alex Pierson's program that I really wanted to hear on Tuesday, but missed it.
Normally, you can find it online within a few hours. But the most recent Pierson airchecks are from Nov. 29th. Nothing new since.
A quick look through their other shows also indicates there's nothing at all from this week - and it's already Wednesday. A shame if they've stopped posting this content. Sometimes it comes in handy.

Former 640 news reader Neil Kumar [ sp ? ] is now employed by CBC Radio, I heard him several times this week in the afternoon.

I wondered who was going to sub for Anthony Furey on the weekend morning show, while he fills in for John Oakley for two weeks. The answer, at least this weekend, is Davelle Morrison, a real estate agent and regular guest who comes on every Saturday and Sunday and talks about buying and selling houses.
She's not terrible, but she admits she has no radio experience and it just shows how thin the bullpen is now that the place is almost empty after all the cuts. I'll be curious to see if she's back in the chair next weekend, as well.

They edited out all the parts where she interrupts and talks over guests, and there was nothing left.

I caught both days of her fill-in as well. As you say, not terrible, and she sounded more comfortable on the Sunday, but a producer (board op?) Jody had to pipe in with the station ID and other cues here or there. Also some confusion about the "640" branding. Good enunciation and a pleasant voice, however.
Pics from her social media.

I had the chance to hear this imaging today and I agree.

To be fair, that's probably not the voice's choice, but the direction from the imaging producer and/or program director or higher.
