It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my brother, Robb Collis. (May 11, 1954 to November 13, 2024). A graduate of the Ryerson RTA course, Robb was a fixture in Toronto radio for much of his career. With no desire to be an “on-air personality”, Robb honed his skills in producing., promotions and marketing at stations like CKEY, CKFH, CHUM, CFTR and CFRB. He also dabbled in marketing at Via Rail, Kingswood Music Theatre, The Nederlander Group and the Drabinsky Group.
Robb had a take-no-prisoners approach to the things that mattered most to him, his love of politics, his despise of most politicians, his work, and his unconditional love of his mother, and his partner.
Predeceased by his parents Lillian and Nathan Collis, Robb is survived by his partner Rick Martin, his brother and sister-in-law Lorne & Rhonda, his nephew Adam, niece Lisa and great niece Lillian.
Robb fought a long-standing battle with kidney disease which, over the years had left him a double amputee.
A fighter to the end, Robb never lost his sense of humor. He beat the odds on numerous occasions. This one was just too much, and he went peacefully. RIP little brother. Go ahead…have one more candy for all of us!

Lorne,
My condolences to you and your family.
Your brother gave me a shot. I was a student at Humber College looking for an opportunity. He had just landed at CFRB as promotions director. I started as his first intern.
I hadn’t seen Robb in several years. On a subway, maybe 15 years ago we talked about where it all started. I was a moment I won’t forget.
Thank you Robb. You were the first of a handful of people who took a risk.
RIP
