In the words of the song by Ace, "How Long Has This Been Going On?"
I don't listen to 680 all that often - usually just a quick hit to get the headlines, which is what the format is designed for.
But on Friday afternoon, I tuned in at 12:51 PM or so and heard something I've never listened to before. It was a strange live two minute segment with Richard Southern, normally their Queen's Park reporter (who does an excellent job, by the way) doing a review of several stories, some of them kicker type yarns.
What made the segment so different, though, was that both anchors on the air at the time chimed in and commented on the stories, adding their own personal views or making jokes. It was find of like a mini-CFRB Roundtable, with everyone throwing in an opinion.
It was short, but it was kind of fun, too. Have they been doing this a long time? It's the first instance I've ever heard of kibbitzing for two minutes on Toronto's only all-newser and it gave the place a kind of personality you normally don't get to hear on air there. I quite liked it. I hope they do it again and more often.

I think they're doing something different in the noon hour. I was in the car Wednesday around 1230pm and they kept referencing "need to know" news and factoids and did a traffic report outside the scheduled "on the ones". I haven't heard enough to confirm though.
