Last year, ABC was a bit short of programming, so it dipped into its Hulu roots and brought Season 1 of "Only Murders in the Building," a streaming-only show, to free network TV. The series, which stars Steve Martin and Martin Short among other big names, was a critically acclaimed hit.
Now the Alphabet Network is bringing season 2 to the small screen, debuting Thursday, Jan. 2nd at 9PM. It appears they'll be scheduling two hours of the show every Thursday. It was a hit for ABC, which is why it's coming back for a second go-round.

Heh, I'm surprised you're not complaining about how ABC has 3 hours of High Potential tonight.
Is the show really THAT popular?

At least they are different episodes. The last time, they showed the same debut three times in one week. At least this time, they are three repeats, and not the same one. It tells me ABC is short of programming if they're already into reruns in early-mid November.
Worth noting this is one of ABC's highest rated new shows in a very long time, and has already been renewed for a second season.
But tonight's program is also the fall finale. Which means after only 4 or 5 episodes, it's off the air until sometime next year.

Wonder if CTV will pick it up again as a simsub. The only problem I had with the show was the editing by ABC for the naughty words or blurring over the mouth. CTV could show it with the offending language, but maybe they can only run the simsubed version and not the original.

If CTV runs the original, they lose the sub.

Just a reminder that the second season of this critical hit is returning to ABC on Thursday night, with multiple episodes back-to-back starting at 9 PM. Because it's a Hulu show (which is only available in the U.S.), most of us probably haven't seen it. It stars Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez.

Most of us will be watching it on CTV however...

Curse?? Please..simsub is a win-win..The Canadian OTA nets benefit with better programming, often better than the US OTA nets. The US nets benefit with more money in their pockets due to the higher fees they can charge for exclusive rights. Most viewers couldn't care less if a show is simsubed or not.

And that is why I will never give up my antenna. I get to choose what channel I watch something on. That's worth a fortune to me - and best of all, it's free.

Most people care about watching the show, not the channel it's on.

I care about seeing the show the way it was meant to be seen. Not with extra commercials or banner ads, promos in the middle of the program, poor editing and squeezed impossible-to-read credits and no preview of next week's show. If that doesn't bother you, fine. But I can tell you I would not pay a Rogers or a Bell for that "privilege!"
I always prefer to watch on the originating network, a practice I adopted years ago.
I like having the choice on which station I want to watch. If you don't care about the government legislating away that option with protectionist rules you can't get around, that's up to you. I prefer my freedom to pick my channel. And so far, they haven't found a way to block an OTA signal. So Buffalo it is. (I know of one regular poster here who pays extra for the west coast channels just to avoid simsub. Perhaps he'll chime in and tell you why he does it. But obviously I'm not the only one who feels that way. In the end, it's the principle of the thing.)
That said, I hope you enjoy the show.

What you are talking about (and some is inaccurate) is not the point. The point is simsub doesn't affect you at all, so why do you rail on about it all the time? Let those that have cable worry about it. If it is worth a fortune to you, and clearly this is what you prefer, why all the endless whining about simsub?? I guess it gives you another excuse to also whine about Rogers/Bell/CRTC/Canadian programming etc. etc...
And it's not like the local US stations don't clip and clobber network commercial breaks as well. Since there doesn't seem to be as much simsub anyway. I see the Detroit stations clipping commercials, promos, credits all the time. Even joining a show 3 or 4 seconds after it has started since they messed up the local break.
And the US originating networks aren't afraid of using the squeeze zoom, banner promos, and credits flying by so quick you can't read them. Sloppy editing? Huh?

I hate the sim sub and I'm finding no shortage of people who want the American channel, not CTV.
This includes MANY who don't even know what the sim sub is, they just call it a "rude cut in"
"Get your own programs CTV" some would even say.
