Just watched the late CFTO sportscast. Apparently Bryan Dunstan doesn't know how to pronounce Milos Raonic's name. As another SOWNY forum member would say, I am outraged!

At least they HAVE a sportscaster!! Unlike Citynews @11.

It's CTV Toronto, providing local Toronto news @ 6&11:30 PM but for legal reasons, it might still be CFTO...?

Those are still the call letters (actually CFTO-DT) but you'll never hear or see them. They stopped using CFTO in their branding in 2005.

Call me old-fashioned. It's still CFTO for me, along with CFRB and the SkyDome.

CFTO and CFRB are still legal id's but Skydome takes your point too far.
It's the Rogers Centre for a reason.
When you get your own set of money to spend on a dome you can call it what you want.
Until then,
I am ever so grateful that Rogers changed the name to Rogers Centre and kept the place alive and well.
Rogers has earned the name Rogers Centre.
Please do not disrespect that.

Agree with your point(s).
What I find absolutely hilarious is some/most here consider corporations as the evil spawn of Satan begat from the third-side of hell. They hate progress and profit and truly believe that corps owe them a job for life.
There's no respect here by some.

False. Rogers purchased the legal means to rename the facility previously known as Skydome (itself a desperately poor, committee-driven construct).

Why? It takes more effort to do otherwise.

False. It takes more effort to be constantly negative. More effort to deny facts. More effort to have such vitriol for corporations and their current path. Frankly, it's tiresome to come here and read endless negatively constantly.

Adorable! Bless your duckspeak MBA soul!

I might even tolerate people calling it Rogers Skydome, but to leave Rogers out of it is beyond ignorant.
Sometimes I wish I could be a magic Genie and wave my wand to show people what Skydome that piece of land looks like with no Rogers investment.

To return to the subject which actually launched this rather interesting exchange of views, I'm pleased to report that Bryan Dunstan pronounced Milos Raonic correctly on his Sunday night sportscast. There -- no negativity here!

But yet they're bringing CityNews casts to all their stations.

Since this remains a free country, I'll stick with calling them CFTO and the SkyDome. While Radiowiz is very much entitled to his opinion on the latter, I have my reasons. Now back to the original thread topic -- dreadful CFTO sportscasters. Almost as bad as not knowing how to pronounce "Raonic," last night's late edition ignored the 17th 4-homer game in MLB history in favour of the usual garbage and fluff. Maybe they should follow the Citynews model of having no sportscaster.
