A real achievement for the award winning and longest running sketch comedy TV program of all time. Saturday Night Live is 50 years old this year. Season 50 begins tonight. From NBC..

well, they just lost me with musical guest "Jelly Roll"... and he has not even performed yet.

I watched the season 50 debut last night. Not a bad show, and some funny skits. Jim Gaffigan's impression of VP candidate Tim Walz was hilarious. Saturday Night Live has a mountain of material to draw from for their 50th season. It could be one of their best ever.

I found it great to see Dana Carvey as Joe Biden. He is still my favourite cast member of al time.

I'm trying to remember. Didn't Carvey also do George W. Bush at one point? (It seems to me I recall him saying the phrase "Wouldn't be prudent.")
I wonder if that makes him unique in doing two different presidents on the same show.

Excellent 50th season launch! Weekend Update had some good digs at Trump and the cold opening, although a bit on the long side, was the best I have watched in a few seasons, loved all the stars! I think Jelly Roll has a fairly good voice but I didn’t care for either song much, but the kids love him, so go figure.

Thanks for the link. He was great as Bush.
I hope this new "role" as Biden means we'll see more of Carvey. He is an amazingly talented man, who seems to have disappeared from the scene. Whether that was his choice or not I'm not sure. I do know the tragic death of his 32-year-old son from a drug overdose last year was a major tragedy, and this weekend's appearance may be one of his first since that terrible event.

I loved when Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) was doing his meandering stadium speech and you could see the crowd behind him starting to leave. He told the crowd to get back to their seats or he would lock all the exits..

One of my favorite SNL presidential impressions was Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton, stopping off at a local McDonald's to "mingle with the American people", and then chows down on the patrons' food!
