A couple of weeks ago, Sladjana and James were booted from afternoons. I'm still sore about that one!
Now I've noticed this morning that Laura Carney (who I think is exceptional at her work) and Alex Bloomfield are no longer saying that they're "in for Catherine and Paul".
Is this the sign of more bad news?

Cook and Jetté are both still listed on 680's "Our Team" page - but it doesn't look like it's been updated in a while.

I guess I'm wondering about the possibility that, in some small way, their morning anchor jobs free up some acquisition money for Bell's sports holdings.

For what it's worth, I did hear Paul Cook say on air a couple of weeks ago that he was taking some time off for the wedding of his son. Of course, that doesn't mean Rogers can't lay him off while he's on vacation...and I certainly wouldn't put it past them.

Would not surprise me Jody. When Keith Pelley made the multi-billion dollar Rogers/NHL deal, I was one of the former broadcast staffers they cut and I can assure you that my salary was a mere micro drop in the bucket. They were not a nice company to work for, to put it mildly and I would have a certain sense of schadenfreude if the deal wasn’t approved, but it will be, Rogers always gets it way somehow…..

I'm actually surprised there isn't more of a reaction or speculation on this board about this, given how much bigger and more relevant of an AM station this is in the GTA (at least compared to 1010 or 640). Plus, Paul Cook has been there for ages. Oh well, everyone is free to be interested in what they want to be, I suppose.

I was surprised too Jody, on-air talent just vaporized and not many have noticed, sad. I think Carl Hanstke is the only original 680 staffer left….!

Well, Paul Cook is not back on the air as of yet, but Catherine Jette was on the air this morning with Laura Carney, who did note she was in for Paul.

Paul is on vacation until Wednesday or so I've heard.

Well that's certainly good news to hear. Still it's concerning when fill-ins stop saying who they're in for.

In these times for sure haha.

Cook is in Europe for son's wedding....Catherine returning from a bout of Covid.
End of speculation.

Seems like this week Steve Roberts and Sarah Parrott are anchoring the afternoon drive.
Scott Burnett and Irene Precklett are anchoring the midday portion.
