Finally caught a continuous (((stereo))) signal using AM HD
The sound is as good as FM mono from my initial listening.
I really do hope broadcasters adopt AM HD in general. It would aid in continuous use of the band, and as with HD FM, typically speaking, there is an analog signal to fall back on in secondary coverage territory.

I’m probably going to sound dumb asking this but if I tune my car stereo (has HD built in) to AM530 will I start receiving the signal in beautiful HD stereo? I know my HD works on FM (as long as I toggle on HD in the settings.

That is actually a good question because signal drop outs have always been severe on AM HD radio stations. During the daytime CHLO is 10 watts digital. The closer to Ashgrove (near Georgetown) you get, the more solid the digital side of the broadcast becomes. Their daytime power is higher than their night power in both standard AM and HD. It always takes a few seconds for the digital to decode.
A very limited number of former AM only stations in the United States now use the 100% digital mode without the analog. These are supposed to be technically superior to the hybrid broadcasts.

I do get the HD signal in Hamilton.
I hope more broadcasters utilize an AM HD signal.
I work on both the AM and FM dial on-air so I appreciate both mediums of broadcasting.
