Scott Russell has been with the Corp. doing sports for almost 40 years. And you've seen him on a ton of major events during that time.
"Russell has covered 16 Olympic Games for CBC, including six as host, and also led the network’s coverage of six Pan Am Games, six Commonwealth Games, two FIFA World Cups and two FIFA Women’s World Cups. In addition, Russell was a host and rink-side reporter for CBC's Hockey Night in Canada for 14 years."
He'll do one last Olympics for the network this summer before getting out of the game for good.

The end of the Paralympics also means the end of Scott Russell's 40 year career. He said an emotional farewell to viewers on the weekend, wrapping up four decades in the business.
“I don’t know about you but I’ve had the time of my life. Thank you,” Russell concluded, struggling to hold back tears.
Russell may be the last of his breed, spending 40 years with the same network.

It's an unusual webpage setup .. it's a scrolling page of multiple stories.
The Scott Russell story is immediately before the story that comes up with RA's link.
Here's the proper link ..

Thanks for the correction. I've had trouble linking on that site before. I'm not entirely sure what they're doing but it seems to happen on NOW from time to time. Appreciate the head's up and the fix.

Turns out Scott Russell was retiring from broadcasting - but not retiring entirely. He's left the halls of CBC for the Halls of Academe.
