I sometimes read the obits in the Saturday Star just to make sure I'm not in them! (Insert rimshot for old joke here.) But there was an odd reference for a woman named Betty Lou Todd who sadly passed away this month in her mid-80s. It noted that she'd worked as a board op at what was then known as CKLB in Oshawa early on in her career.
And then it added this:
'Worked as a technical operator at CKLB, WKRP Canada edition, where she met announcer and eventual husband Andy."
Odd that they would work one last dig in at the station, which still exists, but is now called CKDO. The CKLB calls are now assigned to an Indigenous station in the North West Territories.
