They used to be owned by Bell and they used to be on cable. But if you subscribe to a host of channels that once came by wire or fibre, you're going to have to watch them only on streaming.
Fortunately, most of the speciality channels that will require a separate subscription aren't among the most popular. They are: Cooking, OWN, Discovery Science, Motor Trend and Animal Planet.
But the Corus outlets that helped drive that company into financial distress won't be affected.
"Rogers says other upcoming additions including HGTV, Food Network, Magnolia — currently held by Corus — as well as Discovery, Discovery ID and Bravo will remain as channels available through TV service providers, and will stream on Citytv's website and Citytv Plus via Amazon Prime Video."
Rogers deal to shift Discovery Science, OWN, Animal Planet channels to streaming, on demand

Only Roger’s would pouch channels from a company down on its luck. Mind you, look how their Dear Leader threw both his mother and sisters under the bus, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone. They also don’t really give a damn about Canada/Canadians seeing as they use an American actor, John Krasinski, dancing to a song by an American, Taylor Swift, trying to sell phone services to Canadians.
They just don’t get it, their marketing has always been amateur, and their higher ups…..!

Rogers is sponsoring the Taylor Swift concerts in Canada. The company is presenting her concerts in Vancouver and Toronto. Swift is also performing her shows at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Why would Rogers need Canadian actors in their ads for this? Not having a Canadian actor in their ad has nothing to do with their service to customers or Canadians. The ad is simple, funny, very effective and well done IMO.

Bell would too, but I believe they're waiting for more of a liquidation deal at this point.
It'll be cheaper than having to pay now for something.
