Even as the music world is reacting to the apparent suicide of Soundgarden's Chris Cornell, the broadcasting biz has been stunned by the death of Fox News founder Roger Ailes. The 77-year-old is generally credited with creating the uber conservative news network, which has been rocked of late by sex scandals, while trying to hang onto its vigorous defence of Donald Trump.

Ailes was ousted amid accusations of sexual harassment of several female employees, followed by network star Bill O'Reilly for the same sins. 

But love him or hate him, Ailes changed the nature of broadcast news. And for better or worse, that's what he'll be remembered for.
