Chroma key is nothing new in TV newscasts - where a green screen is used to superimpose other visuals behind an anchor - but the industry marches on and this latest tech being employed by CBS is pretty amazing. My only worry is that there may be a temptation to overdo it (as seen in the compressed video included with the linked article below. I thought the globe coming up beside the anchor was a bit much.) 

But it's certainly very impressive, especially when you consider there's really nothing there.
