Here's the spot
And here's the story behind the spot.
"Krasinski danced to ‘Shake It Off’ for Rogers commercial shot in Innisfil."
I would think it cost Rogers a good chunk of change to get Krasinski to film this? Imagine the comments on social media the next time there's a Rogers service outage.
Gotta say tho I am a fan of John, the first A Quiet Place movie was brilliant.

Saw this spot yesterday. My immediate reaction was that it's a generic spot filmed for any telecom company that wanted to use and insert their logos, for whatever the cost.
I'm surprised to learn that it is a Rogers-specific ad.
Too much to ask them to use Canadian talent in the spot?

Online!
In addition to the actor, the cost to use any music by Taylor Swift wouldn't be cheap either. Why should Rogers use Canadian talent? They use or the agency suggests whoever they want.

Bruno Gerussi and Rita O'Neil weren't available.

Outstanding! Yes I know the hired agency will use or get whomever but we tend to do a terrible job of promoting our own. Then again, a Canadian talent might be too well versed in the horrors of being a Rogers customer that they may turn the offer down!

The job of the ad is not to promote the talent.

Sure, the idea is to get people to switch to, or stick with Rogers, but why waste all that money?
Bell already has their own "Stick with Rogers" ad.
It's the one that says "if you switch to Bell, your service will be attacked by a Pirate space ship...stick with rogers and your service will be safe. The ship will go away and leave you alone."
I'm am indeed sticking with Rogers after seeing that last Bell ad...safety and all!!!

Bringing this story back to provide some updated details. Rogers and Krasinki's reps failed to offer a comment for this article.
