At almost every station I ever worked at, there was one rule when it came to vacations: if you were on air, you could take time off but not until another personality came back. That certainly doesn't seem to be the case at CFRB.
I noticed on Tuesday that most of their schedule has been completely turned upside down.
Consider:
6AM-10 AM: John Tory is in for John Moore
10 AM-12 PM: Deb Hutton is subbing for Jerry Agar
12PM-2 PM: Robin Gill is on for Vassy Kapelos and
2 PM-4PM: Jim Richards is taking Hutton's place with an extra two hours, before his actual drivetime show begins.
Only Richards and Shane Hewitt are on when they're supposed to be.
That's ten hours of people you'd normally hear in those time slots not being there for an entire week or more. Everyone deserves their vacation time, especially in the summer. But all at once? That's something I've never heard any other station allow to happen.

Robin Gill is a decent fill-in until Vassy returns. Don't listen to any of the other regular hosts, but the fill-ins can't be any worse, other than Tory, who is the absolute worst.

I've noted this before, and it happened again at least this morning.
Tory having to comment on things that happened when he was mayor.
Today it was all about the pandemic and Tory fumbling as he tried to comment on problems that happened on his watch while supposedly being an impartial radio host.
Meanwhile Deb Hutton, another conservative both large and small C, is trying to comment while not stepping on the former mayor's toes.
I notice he did not take any calls from listeners (because it was very likely some would call him out for his mayor misjudgments).

Just two reasons why I don't listen to CFRB any longer.

When did radio hosts become impartial ?

I've also noted before (but it stands repeating) that Frau Hutton was on-air at CFRB commenting on Doug Ford Regime matters when it was reported she was contracted by said Regime to provide 'ethical guidance'. I don't recall her disclaiming this.
Who is paying for her airtime?

"Frau Hutton".... Sehr lustig!
But then it was always best to read Mike Harris's "Common Sense Revolution" in the original German.
