You know it's going to happen - with the record precipitation that's hitting Toronto over the next four days without any let up, news writers will be falling all over themselves to pick a few choice lyrics as a way to introduce the seemingly never-ending weather story. I'm talking about places like CP24, David McKee on RB and of course, seemingly everyone on 680 News.
A few possible choices:
Who'll Stop The Rain? - Creedence Clearwater Revival (The title lyric)
Have You Ever Seen The Rain? - Creedence Clearwater Revival (The title lyric)
Here Comes The Rain Again - Eurythmics (The title lyric)
The Rainmaker - Tom Northcott (or Harry Nilsson) ("Rain, rain go away, come again another day...")
Raindrops - Dee Clark ("Raindrops, so many raindrops...")
Rainy Days & Mondays - Carpenters (If it's still pouring out by then)
Raindrops Keep Fallin' - B.J. Thomas (The title lyric)
"Blame It On The Rain" - Milli Vanilli (If anyone actually had the nerve to play these guys.)

Vancouver's all traffic station likes to use Garbage's "I'm only happy when it rains" when going to weather news on their station.
(yes, Garbage really is the name of the band, lol)

Blame It On the Rain - Milli Vanilli
(oh it wasn't that bad ...lol)

How about...
Purple Rain
Singin' in the Rain
Raindrops keep falling on my head
And after it's all over you can play.
The Unicorn.

One of my favorites was this and it was the flip of Paperback Writer and not an an album until the Hey Jude comp.

Outside of the box? Okay...
For the music beds it doesn't have to be a song with rain in the title...just a section of the song.
ie Simple minds-Don't you forget about me "Rain keeps falling..down down down..."

Well, I guess now that the monsoon has passed, someone has to play "I Can See Clearly Now (The Rain Is Gone)" by Johnny Nash.

The Holly Cole version was better. Quirky, but better

The 1993 version by Jimmy Cliff works just as well. I'd say better, but I suppose that's all a matter of opinion.
