I Hope They Give Ben Mulroney His Own Weekday Show

Ben Mulroney's Friday afternoon 640 show subbing for John Oakley focused on the craziness of the LCBO strike settlement/non-settlement, among other issues. I thought he handled it really well, between guests (including station stalwarts Alex Pierson and Greg Brady) and outraged and bemused callers.

I know he does weekend mornings, but after hearing him more extensively for the past month, I really wish he had his own show during the week. With the Corus craziness, that's not likely to happen, but this is a talent waiting for a full time gig.

Hopefully, he'll land one soon.

The good news is he's in again all next week for the afternoon drive show. To be honest, I like him better than the guy he's replacing!

Thanks for the heads up RA, I'll definitely be listening to Ben next week.

Too bad he couldn't have taken over the afternoon drive show on 1010, maybe one day...🤞

Ben is too good for the now basically defunct 1010. 640 is Toronto's information station.

Bell seems to give TSN 1050 quite a bit more attention and effort than 1010 a lot of the time.

1010 does not have one decent show. 1050 at least has Overdrive, which is about as good as it gets in Toronto for sports talk.
