CHCH Forced To Delay 6 O'clock News Until 7 PM
Channel 11 was showing the syndicated "Trending Now" in the 6 PM hour, running a crawl saying "Due to technical difficulties, the Evening News Will be seen at 7 PM." There was no other reason given and there's nothing on their website about it, but it's something you rarely see.
And it's hard to explain how you can have "technical difficulties" bad enough to delay an entire newscast - but only for an hour.

Trending Now is produced by CHCH. It is their weekday Entertainment/News magazine show.

Which shows you how often I watch CHCH. But what could have happened to delay the 6 for an hour? Some very strange things are going on with several newsrooms in this area lately.

Maybe they lost power due to the rainstorm?
In fact, Matt Ingram (CHCH anchor/reporter) tweeted the following at 6.09 pm: “Due to technical difficulties related to issues at our Toronto office, the @CHCHNews @CHCHTV News at 6pm will be broadcast at 7pm in a shorter, 30 minute edition. Sorry for any inconvenience!”

Fibre / Network service outage due to the larger power problems in greater T.O.
Channel Zero gets a good deal on their fibre from No Frill's.... and PC Points too....

Also their head office is in The Junction, which was without power for quite a while today. Is their MCR there or routed through there?

Yes, they are in the Keele / Dundas St. W area.....
