Ex-CHFI/EZ Rock Host Filling In For Ben Mulroney On AM640 Wknd. Show
Christine Cardoso will be sitting behind the mic on AM640's "Toronto This Weekend," from 7-10 AM, subbing for Ben Mulroney. She was formerly on CHFI as a newscaster and co-hosted the morning run with Mike Cooper on the old EZ-Rock.
Good for 640 for not just running a reroll in the time slot, which - given Corus' recent financial woes - it certainly could have done.
Mulroney has definitely earned the time off. He's been on the air for 16 days straight, filling in for morning man Greg Brady, while also doing his weekend program. Eventually, the guy needs a day off and he'll get two of them on Saturday and Sunday. But he won't get much rest - he's scheduled to substitute for the vacationing John Oakley beginning next week, potentially beginning another on-air marathon.

Ben is not covering for Oakley next week according to this:
Now, I am assuming that their online schedule is up to date...it does list Ben as filling in for Greg so I'm leaning that way.
Also - I just don't understand your method of counting days. Given that Jul 1 was a(nother) day of rerolls, that means Ben did 11 days from Jul 2 to today.
Lastly, good for Christine, I enjoy her sound. I *think* she's covered the weekend show previously.

Mulroney has repeatedly said Greg Brady would be back next week, and I see that reflected in their listings. (There is a calendar of dates on their schedule, so you can check out next week's sked.)
He also said on his weekend show that he would be subbing for Oakley this coming week. As I look at their schedule now, it says Brady is definitely back in the morning run.
But you are right about one thing. The sked indicates Oakley is off - but Kevin Vuong is listed as taking his place. This is a bit surprising since Mulroney had clearly indicated on air that it would be him. Also having an MP who's still in office hosting a show (as opposed to being a guest being interviewed on a show) is unusual. Perhaps the fact he's sitting as an independent makes the difference. He will almost certainly have a different and insider take on things, at least when it comes to politics.
But I'm 100% positive I heard him talk about doing this, even saying, something akin to this: "If you're sick of Mulroney-palooza, there will be more. I'll be in for John Oakley when he goes on vacation." Is it possible that Oakley is off for two weeks and Mulroney will take that second week? I guess time will tell.

Good call, I'll bet Oakley's gone for two. And even likelier, Ben doesn't know that so he thinks he's covering Oakley's entire vacation.
