The MusiquePlus special is due in September and will celebrate the history of the Quebec-music channel, along with performances from some modern stars who likely grew up watching it. It will stream in this market on Crave.

I worked briefly for MusiquePlus shortly after they launched and loved it! I was exposed to a whole new world of music and the crew was great to work with, plus I brushed up on my French. They originally broadcasted out of the MuchMusic studio in Toronto and then moved to Montreal. Miss that crew!

Once in Montreal, I saw the set up for MusiquePlus. Very similar to Much Music. On the street, big ground floor windows that would open up to the sidewalk. A lot of MP's programming was actually in English since they would interview all of the big groups that were in Montreal at any given time, so many interviews were in English. Like Much, MP would have bands play in studio with hundreds of fans inside for the live show.
For much of it's life, MusiquePlus was 50% owned by CHUM, hence the similar logo and programming style. One difference however was their version of Electric Circus, which also had a licensed bar in the studio, so the crowd could get a refreshment during the program.
