He was a Top 40 jock on CFCF in La Belle Province who brought great music to a young generation. He was 89.
Dave Boxer, Montreal's 'Cool Daddio on the Raddio,' dies at 89

Sad to hear. Wonderfully competitive Montreal AM radio in the day with Dave Boxer at CF in the evenings, Mike Stephens (much older) weekends at CJAD and the very hip George Morris (aka Buddy G) at CKGM. Gord Sinclair Jr.'s West Island-based CFOX was a real disrupter with a talented crew when it focused on Top 40. Then CHOM-FM rewrote the book.

Brings back great memories of my days in Cartierville in the early ‘60s. I remember when CKGM launched in 1959 and Dave Boxer joined shortly thereafter. The ‘Daddio on the Raddio’ moved to CFCF and owned evening radio for young Montrealers through the decade.

Bonjour Mr. B. yes great memories that will be hard to replicate with today's VTed "that was this is" mechanics.

P.S. nice to see a picture of my first radio boss, Keith Randall.
