Starting on September 1st 2024. Rogers will remove OWN channel from their service. If you all remember that Corus Entertaiment is not renewing the contract with Warner Bros Discovery on their brands. Corus Entertainment has not yet announced the closing of OWN on their website. Rogers will not take over this brand.

On a slightly related matter, I noticed that the History Channel (U.S.) has a series called "The Icons That Built America" running every Sunday night. Next week, July 7th, they're doing an hour on "shock jocks," radio personalities who took a path that wasn't like the rest of their colleagues.
So far, I haven't been able to pin down exactly who they're profiling in this episode, which is described this way:
"In the 1970s, two maverick broadcasters take a different approach, challenging their bosses, the rules and polite society to help create a new genre: talk radio."
If I had to guess, one of them is almost certainly Howard Stern and perhaps the other could be Rush Limbaugh or maybe even Don Imus. Either way, it sounds like a must-see episode, as it explores how their careers got started and where they wound up getting their inspiration from. And when was the last time TV ever devoted an hour to radio?
The problem? I've been looking to see when this premieres on History Channel Canada and so far, there's no sign of it. Which means most Canadians won't get to see it here. Could this be because Corus lost History to Rogers and they're simply not acquiring any new programming? Total speculation on my part admittedly, but they've picked up all the other versions of this series, except this one.
If so, viewers here will pay the price, because the series has been pretty good so far. And I'm sure many here would gladly tune in to see it.

At least I got my IPTV which carries the US History Channel.

Hope you're watching those "...Made America" series shows. I think they're incredible, And by the way, next Sunday there's a brand new Foods That Made America on at 9, followed by the Icons about radio.

Does this mean you didn't get a car?

Except just as with most of Oprah's scams this "you get a car" stuff was nonsense.
Sure, the show awarded cars to the audience members, but most of them could not afford the deal because the prize did not include taxes, insurance or other things like shipping expenses, so really most people did not actually get a car.
They took lump sum payments instead that did not come close to what the car actually costed.
Oprah is one of America's greatest scam artists.
She's given the world other top scammers such as Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz and that guy who wrote a book that turned out to be a total hoax.
Oprah is just another Donald Trump style narcissistic scammer who has become one of the most wealthy American personalities, and cult leaders.
That's why she stopped doing her network TV show. She knew it was just a matter of time that her scams would be exposed.
My most telling Oprah stories was when she went to Paris and wanted to visit the Hermes store to do some elite shopping.
Hermes was having a private party, but Oprah insisted she be allowed to crash it,telling the Hermes people, "do you know who I am am?" etc and then claiming racism that she was not allowed in.
The hilarious thing is, Oprah didn't realize nobody in France knows who she is, or cares.
