I also wanted to add my condolences to the family and to Elaine, who I had the pleasure of working with in the past. She used to frequent these pages and if she's still around, I hope she knows she has our deepest sympathies.

His obituary in The Star noted that he had no real plans to become a broadcaster, working as a sound tech for the NFB. But when he was asked to fill in to do some voice-over work, a star was born. I love stories like that and I doubt very much those kinds of serendipitous chances happen very often today.
