Don't know how long they've been airing NPR's TED radio hour on Sunday evenings but it's a real bright spot for listeners on 1010, starting at 8pm.
Last week it was a really fascinating show on various poisonous creatures living in the oceans and this week it's an excellent hour about "Pain Relief: new approaches to how we live with pain" including life after surgery, living with chronic pain, what are the good/bad options and some useful practical information.
I checked the Newstalk 1010 main page on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter in the middle of the show, and oddly enough there's no link to 1010's live broadcast, no promotion or even a mention that the TED radio hour was currently airing.
Which is a missed opportunity. The Sunday Scaries are what mental health professionals call the various degrees of dread and nervous anticipation people can get on Sunday thinking about the week ahead. Listening to Newstalk and the NPR TED radio hour is a pretty good cure.
I'm also mentioning it on the big yellow board as a few folks may find this particular episode helpful. It's available on any podcast platform.
And hey Newstalk, why not link and share your positive programming with your social media followers and gain new listeners while you're at it !? #SundayScaries #Toronto #GetWithTheProgram

It's Sunday at 9pm, so they see it as filler, completely unaware that the "filler" is better than anything they produce themselves, while they wonder why nobody under 70 will listen to Agar.

I believe the TED talks have been airing on CFRB Sunday nights for a few years now. I remember hearing them for some time.
