Has anyone else noticed this on CTV News? They'll be reporting a story that happened in a Canadian city like Vancouver or Winnipeg but the person doing the reporting is reporting from a different Canadian city like Maybe Ottawa with the Ottawa skyline behind them.

I've certainly noticed it on international stories. Like they'll be reporting on something in the Middle East but the reporter will sign off from Ottawa or Toronto - or sometimes, London, England, even though it didn't take place anywhere near there.
They use viz from purchased newsfeeds, like Reuters, SkyNews, CBS or the like, to fill it out, and just write a voiceover on top of it. But no one is actually on the ground there.
It's a sign of cutbacks, since they've shed so many reporters to job losses. And I suspect it's only going to get worse.

CBC News does this all the time - especially on weekends. There's a breaking story in Western Canada, and they go to a reporter somewhere in Toronto as opposed to someone who's actually there. Guess CTV is taking a page out of CBC's playbook.
