The move everyone expected came down Wednesday, after Fox fired their biggest ratings-getter and highest profile personality. It came after O'Reilly went on a sudden "vacation" amid allegations he sexually harassed and then paid off several female Fox staffers and guests for their silence.
Wow, how things have changed. It would have been only a few years ago that this would have been considered a part of the industry and the guy would have gotten away with it. Add O'Reilly's name to a growing list that includes Billy Bush, Jian Ghomeshi, Fox president Roger Ailes and of course, Bill Cosby

I sense an epic podcast in the making!
Arrogant worm...but then aren't most sexual predators? NEVER-EVER liked him. Extra and entirely glad he's gone. And off he goes...to hang out at the international home of sexual predators and pedophiles? Why...of course he did. I have NO patience or tolerance for these 'individuals' who cause SO much damage to so many lives...damage that, in oh-so-many case, can last an entire lifetime. The penalties should be long, unreasonably difficult and painful. [and I'm pretty much a liberal]
But he will be back. Why? Because shit floats.

My suspicion based on nothing other than the experience of others with similar reputations (like Glenn Beck) - he'll start a podcast or video show on the Internet with a fee for access. Beck did it. Ghomeshi tried it. After a brief disappearance, I'm guessing O'Reilly, the highest rated host on U.S. cable, will return on the web. And I'm betting it will be successful, because - like it or not - a lot of viewers tuned in to see his show.

I doubt there will be any gofundme campaigns for him, I'd bet he's pretty set for a few lifetimes .
As for hiring, depending on his non-compete, I'd bet he's back on the air in 3-6 months.
Maybe Sirius, maybe Rush is getting too old .
who knows...

Well, anything's possible and stranger things have certainly happened. But I tend to agree with this article, which posits that O'Reilly won't be a Factor on TV for a while, with one anonymous agent calling him a "cancer" for any broadcaster that dared to hire him.

Speaking of Billy Bush, who I mentioned earlier in this thread, it's ironic that he turned up with a bizarre musical plea to get back on TV on the same day O'Reilly bit the dust.

If this is correct, then he'll be getting $25 million a year over the next four years - about $100 million all told. That's not a golden parachute, it's a platinum parachute!
