Over the top.

Wanna ruin watching a baseball game?  Just keep talking, and talking and talking about anything but the game.  Sidall and Schulman are over the top with their conversations that make watching today's Jays game a chore.  Give it a rest guys.

They're painful.  So is Buck ('Let me just repeat whatever the person before me said') Martinez.  Aren't the Jays are painful enough, without additional suffering?

Re: Over the top.

As an avid baseball fan I love all the talk.  Especially since Joe Siddall is from Wimdsor and played in both the Tigers and Expos organizations.
When I met my wife she didn't know a fast ball from a fast car.  She has learned so much about the game during every telecast, epecially from Buck.
I remember listening to the Expos games in our newsroom.  Very few games were on TV.  We had a reporter who knew nothing about baseball, didn't follow it, and really couldn;t care less about it.  Until a rain delay. Then he wouod listen as Dave and Duke just chatted, told stories and entertained us until they threw it back to the local station or the game resumed.

Re: Over the top.

Just mute the TV and crank up Fan 590. Problem solved.

RadioWiz & RadioQuiz are NOT the same person.

Re: Over the top.

Actually it may not entirely solve the problem. The radio is always a few seconds ahead of the satellite feed on cable, because of how long it takes the signal to come down from space. So you'll hear about that home run 5-10 seconds before it happens on screen.

I've tried it and it can be very annoying.

I used to do that, back in the days when Tony Kubek was the colour man.  Couldn't stand that Yankee lover.  If Tom and Jerry were still calling the games on radio, I'd do it again.
