One of the first sites I ever went to on the Internet when I got my first computer (dial-up in those days) was a place called "440:Satisfaction.” Some here may remember it well, while others have probably never heard of it.
 
It allowed users to enter a name of their favourite disc jockey or station and see what happened to the on-air personality long after they left town for greener pastures. For example, enter “CHUM” in the search box and a number of famous names pop up, including Jay Nelson, Scott Carpenter, Charlie O’Brien, Duke Roberts, Tom Rivers and more.
 
Click on the name and it lists their career itinerary, from what other stations they worked at and when, to things like their real names and where they went after leaving the station – and often, radio itself.
 
Unfortunately, the guy who ran the site – Johnny Williams, a jock name if there ever was one – has retired and no longer accepts new listings. But if you’ve never heard of this site or haven’t visited for a while, it’s a great way to trace either a jock you remember from your childhood or an old co-worker who you’ve lost touch with.
 
You can search by name, station or city. But beware – even if it’s a bit dated, this is a tremendous time waster. Which is probably the best recommendation I can think of!
