Are Bert, Ernie & Big Bird Headed For The Picket Line?

Can you tell me how to get, how to get to the picket line?

That may be the new temporary theme for "Sesame Street" as its writers threaten to walk off the job Friday, over a pay dispute.

If your kids watch one of the oldest children's show in TV history, will they even notice? The program has been on for 50 years and there are plenty of reruns that could fill the gap for a very long time.

I just hope Oscar the Grouch isn't leading the negotiations!

Today's show is being brought to you by the letters W.G.A. (Writers Guild of America.)

If Sesame Street does go to old reruns, how far back will they go?
I wonder how kids will react to the classic with the cartoon human typewriter.
Will they even know it's a typewriter? Or will they think it's a fax machin...er...maybe they don't even know what a fax machine is either these days.
Maybe they'll just assume it's a magic cartoon character that spits out paper...???

Maybe this far back... this well-known segment, the "sad flower", was first shown in SS's early days, but was remembered for being shown in the early '80s, immediately after the explanation to Big Bird that Mr. Hooper had died.
