CP24 & CTV News Toronto Now Under Same Exec. Producer
Two different entities with one guy in charge. His name is James Lewis and he'll now be heading both news divisions at CP24 and CTV. He replaces the talented Ramneek Gill, someone I worked with a long time ago in another lifetime, after she was caught up in the Bell bloodbath of February 7th.
I love this statement from CTV, as quoted by Broadcast Dialogue:
"A memo from Richard Gray, Vice-President, CTV News, said the move supports the organization’s “overall news transformation strategy as we change to a single newsroom approach allowing for greater collaboration and efficiency.”
Translation from Bellspeak: It's cheaper.

I think part of the complication may be the Union stepping in, not allowing CTV to use CP24 staff?
It's kinda silly though.
CTV news would be a lot better if weather came from the CP24 weather studio, & Sports should come from a TSN Sports Desk. That would be smart!
