CTV Station "Releases" The 2 Teams Who Will Be In The Super Bowl

Or so it would seem. Whoever was doing the text in the CTV Vancouver headline box may have jumped the gun. Although if they did manage to get it right, it's going to be quite the remarkable achievement.

Now if they can just provide tomorrow's winning lottery numbers...

Turns out, like almost everything else on the Internet, this spawned a ridiculous conspiracy theory, which is now debunked. But it even made the New York papers. And it forced the station involved to issue an official statement denying any fix was in.

“This incorrect information appeared on local news station CTV Vancouver Island, as part of a news feed provided by local radio station CFAX 1070AM,” a spokesperson told Snopes. “It was the result of human error, and was quickly corrected. The mistake was also addressed on the CFAX morning show.”
