A Scary Look At The Religious Broadcaster That Bought Buffalo's WTSS

Rolling Stone Magazine offers a fascinating look at the "Educational Media Foundation," the company that purchased Buffalo's Star 102.5 last year.

It shows how the company takes pains to avoid being overly religious on air, is wiping out independent stations across the U.S. via a convenient FCC loophole and uses its growing clout to get donations that go towards buying yet more and more struggling radio stations.

The story is very long but worth a read if you've ever wondered how the takeover - one of hundreds these guys have done - came about. And why it's almost inevitable that more are coming.
