    The Final Showbiz Death of 2023: Shecky Greene

    He was one of those veteran Las Vegas comedians who always wound up appearing on talk shows like Johnny Carson. Never a guy I found especially funny, but he was around for what felt like forever, opening for acts like Sinatra and even Elvis.

    Greene suffered from bouts of mental illness over the years, but always seemed to find a way to make a comeback. He passed away in the early hours of Dec. 31st. He made it to 97.

    We should all be so lucky. The guy I'm buying my new house from is 91, still drives a F150 4x4 daily. My new hero.
