I've never heard of the Washboard Union, but then I don't listen to country radio. They're apparently well known enough to have their own yearly Christmas radio special and this time, it's airing on 32 country-formatted Corus stations. Among them - KX96 in Oshawa. KX 94 in Hamilton and Country 104 in London.
It will also be heard on SiriusXM Canada.

Lead singer Chris "Dunner" Duncombe has a 20+ year career in Vancouver with CORUS has a PD and new media/streaming/podcasting manager.

Well, that would certainly explain its presence on so many Corus stations.

So Durham radio inc shook hands with Corus to air the program on their KX 96 & KX 94.7 stations?
That's fine, but is this a commercial free program?
If not, what will Sirius XM air during the breaks?

More incorrect information posted here when you could have simply read the article you linked to.
They aren’t “apparently” well known enough to have a special. They’ve done this special for several years and the main point of the article was that the show is airing on Corus country stations AND other stations across the country. The stations you highlighted are not Corus stations.

For heaven's sakes, Tomas, did Santa leave a lump of coal and a rotten potato in your stocking? So little gets posted in SOWNY about country music radio that its not a surprise that a post from someone of the stature of the (capital "m" please) Moderator might occasionally slip up. When that happens, the Moderator has always welcomed corrections

So just so we're clear...
Acceptable here:
Political posts ("You all know I don't like to get political", except it happens every few days).
Factual errors (Durham Radio is Corus) (You can't see a new sitcom debut here even though it actually replays later this week)(There's a new women's hockey league no one watches, except the games are sold out and it has two, possibly three TV deals)(The BBC says October 7th didn't happen, even though they mention it in virtually all reporting on the current conflict)("Outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau" two years before an election)(No one watches the Grey Cup even though it's consistently one of the highest rated sports events of the year)
Clickbait posts (Could this happen here?) The answer is almost always no.
Unacceptable:
Short weather forecasts on TV, fact checking what is posted here and demanding that people get their facts straight before posting, talk show hosts having Christmas off, the CBC existing.
Got it.

Not singling out any one person, as there's probably a few people on this board that fall under this category...
The only thing that's really unacceptable on this board is being an antagonistic ass to practically everyone around and being eager for confrontation at the drop of a hat.
Not every single post on this board is an argument that needs to be won, but lately it's been feeling that way.
