It's likely those in the Windsor area remember him well.
His name was Ken Calvert and he was more than just a rock jock. Not only did he do the DJ thing for years, he also graduated to a talk show on the mighty WJR, did a podcast for several years featuring the rock stars he'd interviewed over the years, and was the long time P.A. announcer for the Detroit Pistons.
"When he retired in 2013 as morning host of WCSX-FM (94.7), his producer Jim O’Brien summed him up this way: “Ken’s the man. He introduced (Bob) Seger to (Bruce) Springsteen. He was there when Journey wrote ‘Don’t Stop Believin.’”
He died unexpectedly on Wednesday at the age of 72.
