Globe and Mail columnist takes on CBC President Catherine Tait, saying her past mistakes are causing friction, especially between the factions of CBC English and the French arm, Radio Canada. If what he claims is true, it's an unsettling look behind the scenes at the Corp.'s two solitudes.
CBC president Catherine Tait’s reign of error will not be soon forgotten

Ah yes, think of poor Pierre Karl Peladeau, owner of TVA, shuffling along Ste. Catherine Street in downtown Montreal, his tattered coat flapping about behind him in the wind. Listen as he begs passersby for handouts for his beloved network: "Mes amis, I am but a poor, humble man worth only $1.8 billion. I had to layoff staff to keep my stations on the air. It is all the fault of the dastardly CBC, which dares to produce shows that people actually enjoy watching. Mon dieu! Quelle horreur!"
Following the Conservatives' failure to lay a glove on Ms. Tait during her recent appearance before the Heritage Committee, despite their ridiculous grandstanding tactics, I can only assume this latest bit of manufactured outrage is part of the Globe's longstanding grudge against Mother Corp. Perhaps someday, they can turn the same accountability lens on CTV and Global, which also benefit from government largesse.
