Goodbye 2023-2024 TV season, hello 2024-2025. The decision by almost all the major American networks (which by extension affect many in Canada as well) to put off debuting their new crop of shows until Sept. 2024 shouldn't really come as a surprise. 

It's hard enough to get a new show noticed, let alone one in a strike delayed year, even as the series viewers know, like the Chicagos, the NCIS's or the FBIs, all return for a shortened season. 

So the Big 4 have basically decided to throw in the towel on this season for new shows, and delay them all until next year. I believe it's the only time since the medium was established that there have barely been any new scripted programs on any of the networks in a single season. A first and hopefully, a last.
