Sorry cash, didn't see you already posted. Odd CTV heading says tentative deal but copy says the workers voted to accept.
Online!
I'm thinking from a reporter's shoes that maybe the reporter(s) that be, trying to cover this story could not find a single person willing to step up and say "I'm voting this down...".

Interestingly, TVO has a page on its website about the strike. It has not been updated since Oct. 10. You'd think if the strike was over, they'd want people to know.

Some information was updated near the top of the page:
"Many Ontarians have questions about the ongoing contract negotiations between TVO Media Education Group and the Canadian Media Guild (CMG).
This FAQ aims to answer questions we have received and provide facts around misleading statements made by CMG. Updated November 5, 2023"

Interesting. That wasn't there when I looked on Monday morning. So apparently it has been updated in the intervening hours. It's about time they settled this thing - now if only SAG and the Hollywood studios could do the same thing and salvage the TV season.

TVO says the accepted offer includes a wage increase of 7.7 per cent over three years
- 3% per cent retroactive to 2022 (Ontario CPI was about 7%)
- 2.75 per cent in 2023 (Ontario CPI is about 4%)
- 1.75 per cent in 2024 (Ontario CPI ?)
They've given up roughly 20% of their annual pay (and pension contributions) while on strike (less strike pay, etc)
If making $50k per year that's $10k
Offer increases:
2022 - $50,000 + 3% = $1,500 ($51,500)
2023 - $51,500 + 2.75% = $1,416.00 ($52,916)
2024 - $52,916 + 1.75% = $926.00 ($53,842)
Total gain $3,842 by the end of 2024
Tough to make up the loss
