They're promising new revelations and evidence of this terrible story, one of the seminal moments of 1980. And it has a Canadian connection: it will be narrated by Kiefer Sutherland. But you'll have to pay to see any of the three parts - it will only be available on Apple TV+.
"A release announcing the series says it is “the most thoroughly researched examination of John Lennon’s 1980 murder, which shocked and saddened the world.” The production was reportedly given extensive Freedom of Information Act requests from the New York City Police Department, the Board of Parole and the District Attorney’s office and features “exclusive interviews with eyewitnesses — speaking for the first time — along with some of Lennon’s closest friends, revealing shocking details of Lennon’s tragic murder.”
The series will also feature interviews with Chapman’s defense lawyers, psychiatrists, detectives and prosecutors."
There's currently no streaming date announced, but you can be sure you'll hear lots about it when it's ready to air.
