Fox Using Drones For 1st Time Ever In World Series Coverage

It's said to be a World Series first.

"As for when audiences can expect to see drone footage, the plan is to not just incorporate them into coverage introduction but also during play stoppages.

“That’s the big piece for us...Chief Pilot Michael Izquierdo is running the drones for us. We’ll use them in dead-play situations like pitching changes. We’re planning those shots now.”

Re: Fox Using Drones For 1st Time Ever In World Series Coverage

LIV Golf has also made use of Drones during both the regular season and the Championship tourney at the end of season for the past two years.

LIV was using a beefy drone platform for coverage this season. This was to allow for the creation of some AR / Virtual Graphics and the need to get positioning/telemetry back from the camera/lens/drone for the graphic overlay to work. This was used on LIV's Splash Zone shot/graphic to show the player approach to the green from 1st, 2nd, 3rd shot etc.
