I'm not sure what happened to Maggie John, the regular host of AM640's 7-10 AM weekend show, but she's been gone for weeks. Last weekend, Ben Mulroney sat in for two Saturday and Sunday sets and acquitted himself very well.

This coming weekend, it's Steve Paikin's turn. He's pretty much been sidelined as the TVO strike drags on and on - it's been going on since August 21st with no immediate resolution in sight. He's filled in on 640 before, but it's a welcome change to have such a qualified host on a weekend show that too often veers into PSA topic territory for my taste. I'll definitely be tuning him in.
