Daniele Hamamdjian has been on CTV as long as I can remember. That will change, as the veteran reporter has now joined Global National as a foreign correspondent. In their official announcement, the network refers to her only as a "freelance journalist" and makes no mention of her past as a regular on CTV. She'd been with the latter for over 17 years.
The press release also notes that her work with the Corus organization is on a "temporary basis," which is interesting. To no one's surprise, her first assignment will be covering the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in the Middle East.

Speaking of changes, a new voice is also coming to AM640. Lauren O'Neil is the station's new anchor/reporter. (I wasn't actually aware 640 had any dedicated radio reporters, getting most of their audio from sister network Global. So that's a good thing.)
She also previously had a stint with CBC Radio as a "Trends Reporter," whatever that means.
If her name still isn't familiar, it's probably because she spent the past seven years on the print side of the biz, having served as senior editor of blogTO.

Daniele was one of the casualties of last June's purge at Bell Media, which decimated the London bureau and saw layoffs in Washington and the closure of the Los Angeles bureau. She appears to be taking a page from Lisa L's book in making herself available for short-term assignments with other networks that won't violate any non-compete clauses in her severance package.
