New Doc Honours Legendary 70s Session Musicians & Has A Great Trailer

If you remember the documentary about the Wrecking Crew, the legendary musicians who played on some of pop’s greatest hit records, then you’ll also want to meet the “Immediate Family.”

They’re likely not names you’ll know – Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel, LeLand Sklar and Russ Kunkel – but you’ll absolutely be familiar with the songs they performed on and the artists they worked with.

Names like Carole King and her Tapestry LP, James Taylor’s “Fire & Rain,” Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, Don Henley and Keith Richards – just to name a few.

These virtually unknown musical legends are all saluted in a new documentary called “The Immediate Family,” which features interviews with the names above and many more, including Neil Young and Stevie Nicks, all paying tribute to how much they influenced some of their most famous albums and hits of the 70s. It's from the same director who made the Wrecking Crew film, which was incredible.

I’m not sure exactly when the documentary hits theatres here, but it will be released on December 15th and is scheduled to show on several streaming services. As you can see from the trailer below, this one looks like something really worth watching – not to mention singing along to.
