Connor Bedard made his first appearance in the opener of the NHL season on Tuesday and gave the American sports network its biggest audience ever for a regular season hockey game. That's pretty amazing, considering the cable network first signed on in 1979 - some 44 years ago - and, according to Wikipedia, "aired NHL games from 1980 to 1982, from 1986 to 1989, from 1992 to 2004, and most recently from 2021 to the present."
