You may remember earlier this year when Corus' Roy Green was off the air for at least two months in a row, fighting prostate cancer. He finally returned and has been doing his weekend show ever since.
But on Saturday's program, which runs throughout most of western and part of eastern Canada, Green admitted his cancer was now at Stage 4, never a good thing.
Still, he believes he'll be around for a long while and assured listeners he's not going anywhere. He told his audience there have been many new advances in treatments, including a drug he's taking that can keep the cancer under control, and he expects to be doing his show for years to come.
I hope his prediction for his longevity is correct and we'll be hearing his voice on the radio for a long time to come. Green's show is really the only non-infomercial on during the weekends and some of his guests are really good.
And he should know that a cure is possible. This post is being typed by someone who got the same cancer at a relatively young age almost 8 years ago. My last PSA, taken just last week, was only 0.015, considered almost undetectable for the disease. So there's lots of reason to hope the same can happen for him.
Hang in there, Mr. Green. Better times are ahead!

God bless both of you for a long and healthy remaining years of life.

Thanks mic 'em! How I long for the days when "PSA" just meant Public Service Announcement!

I had a PSA earlier in the year, no rise in the number since the year before. I'm grateful for that.
