I noticed this in my YouTube feed. It looks like CTV Saskatchewan adopted a Regional newscast on the weekends like what CFPL and CHWI has done in the past. Sometime in July Bell Media quitely combined CTV Regina and CTV Saskatchewan into a Regional newscast.. From what I understand I think this was part of the Bell Media cost cutting moves like what they did to CIVI's newsroom and moving it to the main CTV Vancouver studio.

It gets worse…
CTV Morning Live Saskatoon was also scrapped this week in favour of a provincial morning show from Regina with elements from Saskatoon.

Not only that, but they’ve also scrapped the 5:00 and 11:30 shows from Saskatoon, replacing them with provincial newscasts from Regina at those times. Only noon and 6:00 are locally done in Saskatoon.
I remember years ago when Northern Ontario (MCTV) did something similar in the years after Baton acquired that group of stations - my grandparents were in the North Bay area and often talked about the decline of the newscasts there. All the newscasts were done locally out of the individual cities (Sudbury, North Bay, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie), with some minor elements shared between stations such as a business report being done from Sudbury. Then the noon newscasts were regionalized from Sudbury. And the Canada AM updates. The 6:00 newscasts were kept local but there were continual cutbacks; then in 2001 everything got centralized in Sudbury.
ATV in the Maritimes did this clear back in 1981 under CHUM ownership, and CTV has kept it that way since acquiring those stations.
This is also deja-vu for Saskatoon, as their local CBC outlet operated from 1971-1990 and was cut as part of the 1990 cutbacks, and they’ve shared a provincial newscast with CBC Regina ever since.
I think we’re seeing more of that in larger markets now.

Here is the last 11:30 newscast also at the end it shows someone in the control room shutting off all of the screens.

They also cancelled the 11PM weekend news for London and replaced with Windsor news.

Was that just for this weekend or is that permanent?
I feel like I’ve seen that happen before only for it to return the following weekend.
