As someone who did video graphics at a TV station for a decade, I can relate to this. It was a very unfortunate typo on an NBC Sports broadcast of a game between the lowly Chicago White Sox and the equally terrible Oakland A's.
Except "White Sox" wasn't exactly what a graphic shown during the game actually said. Not that it wasn't an accurate description, anyway.
I once had a colleague who wrote a piece on our website about a Leafs-Rangers NHL game, in which he unwittingly stated that the "Blue Shits" scored late in the second period. It was up there for a few hours before anyone noticed!

The game was between the A's and the Rangers, not the White Sox, but still a hilarious typo.

My apologies. The story I read made it appear it was a White Sox game.

That's gotta be deliberate... maybe it was someone's last day at work.

Darn, I was hoping it was an away game for the White Socks with someone being funny.

The W and S are together on the keyboard so it's possible that it was an error.
